There are lots of reasons for myself to love Maida Vale:
1) it's pretty
2) centrally located
3) safe
4) bohemian

I hate the fact it's bloody expensive - but the quality costs!

Generally I'm not a big fan of football. I prefer basketball! But on that day I decided even to go to the pub to watch THE MATCH: Liverpool vs. AC Milan, 2005 Euroleague Final. I decided to watch the match with a Czech girl and a Polish web designer, somewhere in the Central London. After the first part when it was 3:0 for AC Milan I decided to go home as I didn't watch any longer how Liverpool was decimated.

I stopped to do some shopping in TESCO Express and asked what actually the current score is. To my surprise, due to Gerard's, it was 3:3! It took Liverpool 6 minuts to come back.

But the penalties were the best: Polish goal keeper Jerzy Dudek did some mambo jumbo dance a la Bruce Grobelar [ afterwards I found a comment on BBC's website: Bruce got completely stoned in South Africa when celebrating the victory] and Liverpool were the champs!

I've spoken to my Lloyds TSB Account Manager, he happened to be from Liverpool, and he said: they all loved Jezy Dudek :)

The only person who needed consolation was my friend from Milan, Antonello. I sent him an email expressing my hopes that there was some pretty girl to hug him...

The worst thing I remember from this evening: after the penalties one gentleman got his credit card and bought champagne for all + the guys with whom I watched the penalties learnt I'm Polish so I had to drink lots of pints of Guinness... A few too many... And I wasn't allowed to buy them a single one - would you say the English are hospitable from time to time ;)
